Chapter 11 - Castle Rock


1. Piggy tells Ralph to blow the conch and later he tells the littluns at the meeting that his glasses were stolen.

2. Piggy says he will tell Jack to give back his glasses because "what's right is right". He also wants to bring the conch not only to show Jacks group what he doesn't have, but also as a talisman against them.

3. Ralph wants their appearance to be clean and neat like they were before the plane crash.

4. Roger is positioned to be the look-out so he challenges the boys when they approach Castle Rock.

5. Jack had been hunting and when he appeared he had a pig behind him.

6. Ralph calls Jack a thief, which then provokes the fight.

7. After the cessation in the fight, Jack tells the savages to tie them up.

8. Roger, who is on top of Castle Rock, is throwing rocks down at Piggy and, unlike before, he is purposefully trying to hit Piggy.

In Chapter 11 Piggy was brutally murdered, and I believe that Roger is to blame for his death. I believe it was Roger’s fault cause he was the one who had the one who had the rock, he was the one who pushed the rock so that it would hit piggy. Although Jack says that he himself meant to do that, Roger was really the one to push the rock. I think Jack just said that to be mature, and to not let Roger feel bad

"The Afterthought"

Dear journal,

“Piggy and Simon you are both part of my death how could you.”
Piggy and Ralph you two have to understand that you guys were in my death and nothing will change that. You two helped stabbed me to death and that’s the true. I never expected such thing from you two!

Jack’s is not the right leader. In fact to his tribe he’s not like a leader he’s a king. He sits apart from all the littluns and gets more food and bosses the littluns apart. He also beats up the littleuns. How can people follow such a person!

Jack attacked Ralph’s tribe by beating them to join his tribe. He told them he was having a celebration with meat, that briefed al the littleuns to go to his feast. Jack is an amazing liar, and a bad chief!.

Chapter 9;

Dear journal,


In simon's secret place is where the lord of the flies is. Flies like to go there and eat the pig. In his secret place was were Jack and his hunters killed the pig and put its head in the stick, for the beast. Really its the flies who are enjoying the pig.

Simon decides to go to were the supposedly beast is. He goes and finds what the beast supposedly is and he’s tired but still wants to show all the kids what they tough the beast was.
Simon untangles the parachute from the trees. and decides to show all of them what the supposedly beast was.

Ralph and piggy going to the party was kind of awkward but not so much. Since Jack was actually nice to him, and gave him meat to eat. Right when they got there it was kind of scary for all the kids since they just stop doing what they were doing. if some were dancing they stopped dancing, If some were eating they stopped because they all knew that they picked him as chief and now there going with another "chief".
Jack tells Ralph that the conch is not acceptable in the part of the island he’s in. He also told him that he didn't have the conch with him so it gave him like no authority.

The weather towards the end of the part wasn't so good. It started to rain witch lightning. Since jack didn't built any shelters he didn't have no were to go and neither did his followers. Ralph actually did have shelters. So than Ralph seemed smarter than jack since jack didn't really think about shelters he went to quick and said yeah lets have a party.
Jack is the one who emerges from the Forrest he found the suppose beast and tries to show it to them but they end up killing him (I was crying).

I think that it wasn't necessarily one responsible person for killing him. They were all there they were all not really licensing to him. I doubt that it wasn’t only jacks fault because piggy and Ralph helped in the killing two. What I’m still confused is that the lord of the flies told him that he was going to day and even piggy and Ralph were going to kill him two and they did, so how did the lord of the flies know?

Chapter 8;

Chapter 8 - Gift for the Darkness

Dear journal,

Jack has turned in to the biggest liar in the island so far. Some of the things he said were that, Ralph was a big scary cat and he was all the way at the back because he was supposedly scared of the beast. Really Ralph went in front of him since he was scared of the beast or what was the beast. He told all those lies just so he can become the leader but it didn't work.
He actually left because he tough by lying to them like that they were all going to believe him and make him the new leader for being brave. So full of shame he left. I think that jack really did have a reason in his own mind to do that. I mean who wouldn't like to be a leader and be able to make your own rules and boss people around?. I don't really blame him so much. I think piggy should be the leader though he’s perfect for the spot.
I think that Ralph might have been really embarrassed because it seemed like all the littluns actually beveled Jack. I felt really bad for Ralph but I think he defiantly deserved it, because I'm really mad at the fact that he told everyone that they called piggy piggy(that's mean). I am actually not mad at jack for doing that. If I really had to do it I would because I would like to the be the leader not the follower.

Chapter7;

Dear journal,

Ralph looks way different something happened to that good-looking kid when we got here. His hair is really long it looks bad. He looks supper different and he actually knows it himself.
They start playing a game after almost killing the pig. The game is so much different than the games a 12-year-old kid would play and I don’t know what was in their minds to pay that. Those kids really need to grow up cause there going to get hurt. What they did was pretended one of the littluns was the pig and roger crabbed his spear and actually stabbed him.

“You could get someone to dress up as a pig and then he could act, you know, pretend to knock me over and all that.”
I think this is a dumb idea that would want to get stabbed in. I think that some one is going to get hurt if they keep on thinking this way.

I think the game the kids were playing is really dangerous so I think they should watch it.

"The Beast with No Trace"

Dear journal,

I feel so much different then the kids. Most of them just play games and don’t take anything seriously, this island really needs someone to step it up and do something about this beast. Today Sam.erick came to me and told me they saw the beast in the air. They described it as a beast with razor-sharp claws, that leaves no trace or tracks will certainly frighten the boys.
They were really terrified and I don’t know what to say to the other kids no more about this beast.

I don’t know what to do anymore. I feel like a team captain that left his team down. Because no one is willing to stop being afraid of the beast and it’s getting me supper mad I cant take it anymore. I’m sick of this.

Chapter 5;

"Rules to Civilization"

Dear journal,

Today in assembly was called because most of the rules weren't being followed. Like some littleuns were taking a short anywhere and they were told that they had to only take shorts by rocks. Another one was you can only get water with coconut ands some littleuns are just drinking off the water. I fell that Ralph should of never been choose n as the chief he’s not going to get us anywhere, when I can. I'm the smart one in the island I'm the one that can be the actually useful.

Things are falling apart big time. Nobody follows the rules NO BODY only Ralph, me, Simon, Jack kind of. I personally think that we are not going to be able to survive in this island with all these people in it.

The littleuns are crying because they say that theirs a beast. I really don think that theirs a beast, I think that its just there imaginations.

Percival is afraid to not get home. Well like I mean what littleun isn't scare to not get home

If I were to be the leader right now I would totally make things better they would be much better than they are now. I'm actually the only smart one. The one that actually has order and organization to making things. If I were to be leader they defiantly be more order with following the rules. I would of made sure that the fire wouldn't go off and we would be rescued by now.

Dear journal,


I am having trouble adjusting to the island because of the people in this island. My life here is much different people are out of their minds here, especially jack. My life is also different cause in England I actually had a house to live in and had a much better life than here.

I fell like the littluns really need some one to watch over them. They do not help well because they’re little. The littluns only have time for playing and staying in the water doing nothing but playing.

Today jack and the choir painted their faces to go "HUNTING". I think that's its kind of weird that they painted their faces, I know were on an island but they don't have to go that far. This foreshadow that I think that just because jack and them painted their faces and they’re going to start liking it and become all like weird.

The passing ship didn't see us because of jack and his stupid choir. I think that is they wouldn't have gone to get some meet we would have probably been home by now. The fire was allowed to go out because the choir decided to go with jack to hunt instead of taking care of the fire.

The mood at this time is really just like chill. I predict that Ralph and jack are going to get on a big argument cause they are starting to disagree on a lot of things.

Dear journal,

I personally think that the littleuns do deserve a shelter, because they are little and deserve some where to sleep but if they get a hut than everybody should. The only thing I don't like is that the littleuns don't really work, and well don't really deserve it.

Some of the jobs assigned to the boy are hunt, but that's only of jacks choir, they have jobs like helping watching the fire, collecting wood, food, and more. I think that the little ones get distracted well because they’re little kids. There not adults that are supposed to be doing this. They are not mature enough.

I think that the most important for survival would defiantly be, hunting for food. Because they cannot live with out food. People are always going to get hungry specially the little ones, so I really think that they are going to have problems finding food.

I think Simon is a weirdo freak. He’s worthless he does nothing but faint and meditate. What is the point of having him in this island, I HATE SIMON.
I think that if we don not get rescued me are all going to die. Because food is going to totally run out. We are going to get tired of being here, we are going to get thirsty, because have food but not water.

I dont not get along with Ralph because all he cared about was building huts. Huts can be built any other time that cares about huts, what we really need is food and everyone wants meet..!!

Dear journal,

I don not thinks this is the best island ever. Because people aren’t nice, and rules are not being followed the way there suppose to be followed. I think that maybe if we had more organization it would be a better place.

I really don not know what the beast is!. I think that it probably wasn’t the boys imagination because I don not think that a little boy would come up with such a thing. I feel that the beastie is a beast. I don’t really have any good feeling or bad feelings because we haven’t really heard a lot about it in the book so I wouldn’t really know. I do have predictions.

In this moment I don not really have a plan to leave the island. I really do want to get out of here. I hate it here. Even do school isn’t the best place either it would prefer it there, I would probably get a little more respect here.

Well if it wasn’t for my glasses there would of never been a fire, so we started the fire with my glasses, and wood. Than the fire started to spread all around, at it became a bigger fire. Hopefully nothing will happen to the island.

After the fire started to get all-big, we were missing a boy. We couldn’t find him, and we knew he was missing because we can tell him apart from his birthmark. So know we all think he died.

I am really worried, I am worried because of the fire, and I am also worried because what happened to the boy with his birthmark can happen to anyone. I really don’t like it her so much.

The island is a beautiful island by what I so far see. It has a pool were we go and have fun in. It has fruits and it has big and pretty trees.

What brought us to this island was a plane we were in it since WWII was going on. They shoot us down and we landed on this island.

Hello, my name is piggy and my life here isn’t the one people would usually wish to have. They called me piggy and I asked Ralph not to tell anyone that they called me piggy in school. Jack hates me so much and he makes a lot of fun of me, and the rest of the kids make laugh at his jokes with out knowing it hurts me.

The reason why there’s no adults in this island is because we were on the airplane and the only adult in the airplane was the pilot and he didn’t survive the impact of landing in the island.

The power of having the conch shell is like having respect, because people actually listen to you and they cant interrupt you only the leader. I feel like the conch represents that we actually have order in this island and were not just kids going crazy.

The choir has a big responsibility, they have to go and hunt and get food for us. I feel that the choir should ditch Jack he’s the worst leader I can think of!

I think I should be the leader I’m the only smart enough one to get all of us out of this island.
